IPM Associate Director to Lead New Pharmacogenomics Center of Excellence

The University of Pittsburgh and Thermo Fisher Scientific have established a new Pharmacogenomics Center of Excellence in the School of Pharmacy that aims to discover and validate medication response predictors in patients, overcome implementation barriers, and demonstrate the value of genetic testing to guide medication prescribing in routine clinical practice. Pharmacogenomics is the study of how genetic variation impacts medication responses.

Women in Bio Precision Medicine Event

The Women-In-Bio Pittsburgh Chapter will highlight Precision Medicine during their annual POWER event on September 26th, 2017. Jennifer Xavier, PhD will represent the IPM in the opening talk before female leaders in Precision Medicine from the Pittsburgh region share their views and experiences. IPM researchers to participate in MassBio panel discussion on Machines and Medicine: Partners in Precision Medicine


The University of Pittsburgh Chancellor Pat Gallagher, Pitt health science faculty researchers, and the Panther men’s basketball team will be in Boston February 6-8.

As part of these events Adrian Lee, PhD, Director, Institute for Precision Medicine will lead a panel discussion on “Machines and Medicine: Partners in Precision Medicine” at MassBio. This event is open to the public.
