The Institute for Precision Medicine hosts a monthly speaker series to highlight advances in Precision Medicine research and in Personalized Care – not only at Pitt/UPMC but across the United States.
The third IPM speaker for the Fall 2022 semester will be given by Jeanette McCarthy MPH, PhD, on November 16th at 4:00pm via Zoom.
Malabika Sen, PhD, MBA, has joined the Institute for Precision Medicine (IPM) as Associate Director, Economic Partnerships and Outreach. Dr. Sen has been at the University of Pittsburgh for over 17 years. Prior to joining the IPM, Dr. Sen was a Research Associate Professor in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center where she worked on cancer biomarkers and molecular targeted therapies in lung cancer.
The Institute for Precision Medicine will attend the Precision Medicine Leaders Summit on Precision Oncology and Diagnostics at Willis Tower, Chicago on Oct 19-20, 2022.

The IPM Spring 2022 Speaker Series officially concluded last Wednesday, May 18th, with a lecture given by our own Mylynda Massart, MD, PhD. Dr. Massart’s talk, entitled, “Advances in the Clinical Implementation of Precision Medicine Beyond Oncology: The Story of the Primary Care Precision Medicine Clinic at UPMC.”

In just a few short weeks, IPM will join thousands of scientists, physicians, business executives, and administrators from around the world at the Precision Medicine World Conference 2022 Silicon Valley Meeting.
Since the conclusion of the 2021 PMWC International East Meeting, IPM has continued to advance Precision Medicine throughout Western Pennsylvania and the UPMC ecosystem.
Precision Medicine is a difficult to implement in the clinic, because it changes how healthcare is practiced.
Over the past several years, though, Dr. Mylynda Massart and her colleagues in the UPMC Department of Family Medicine have done exactly that.
Recently, Dr. Massart published a short paper describing the formation and operation of the Primary Care Precision Medicine Clinic here at UPMC.
