Xinming Zhuo, PhD
Xinming joined the Genome Center in April 2018 as a Bioinformatics Analyst. He received his PhD degree in Biochemistry from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse NY. He studied retinal genetic diseases with advanced imaging and flow cytometry technologies during his graduate school training with Dr. Barry Knox in the Department and Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and Department of Neuroscience and Physiology. After graduation, he did post-doctoral training with Dr. Arthur Beaudet in Baylor College of Medicine Molecular and Human Genetics Department where he studied the genetics and therapies of Angelman Syndrome. Xinming was also involved in the development of cell based prenatal testing where he developed a NGS based genotyping pipeline to identify isolated single fetus cells. He is an expert in developing new NGS diagnostic assays. Meanwhile, he is also an active member of the ClinGen gene curation team (ID/Autism Workgroup).
